Cus Lijoi’s extensive experience in labor and employment matters includes negotiations of collective bargaining agreements on behalf of employers, assistance with administration of labor contracts, grievance processing and arbitration.
Cus represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board, for certification and decertification petitions, unfair labor practice charges, and subsequent appeals to the U.S. District Court or Court of Appeals.
Cus defends employers in cases filed with the EEOC, MDCR, Michigan Circuit Courts and the U.S. District Court on claims of employment discrimination based on age, race, gender, religion, pregnancy status, FMLA, whistleblowers, and public policy violations.
Throughout his career, Cus has represented men and women in divorce and domestic relations matters which often include substantial asset valuation and settlement issues, spousal support, and contested and emotional child custody matters.
Cus has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury and workers compensation cases, and general civil litigation.
Cus Lijoi received his Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State University and his Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.
